ArtLife Society began Fairfield's 1st Fridays Art Walk in October of 2002 under the creative inspiration of Stacey Hurlin, ArtLife Society Director. Since that time, the monthly all-community event has grown to be the signature event of the town. In 2006, the 1st Fridays Art Walk earned the respected title of 'The Iowa Tourism Event of the Year'.
In November of 2005, ArtLife Society handed the organizational baton over to a newly formed art walk board to ensure the continued stability and expansion of the art walk. Now in the 6th year, the feedback continues to be over-the-top enthusiastic, absolutely positive. If you haven't come to one yet, come. You'll see.
